The Big Toddle
If you've got a toddler and you fancy raising a bit of money for Dr Barnardo's, then come along to Chester Green on Monday 21st July. A group of toddlers will be toddling round the green with collection buckets and will be meeting at the play area at 10am. Do come along! More info (from the Dr. Barnardo's site) can be found here.

Pocket Panto Returning to Chester Green
Last year, Pocket Panto performed a production of Dick Whittington which was brought to Chester Green Community Centre.

This year Pocket Panto are bringing a new show, "Aladdin", to the Chester Green Community Centre on Sunday 30th March at 2pm. Doors open 1.45pm. Tickets £4 Adults, £3 Children, available on the door on the day. To reserve call: 07861 377228.

It's a magical 1 hour show for all the family packed full of songs, dancing & comedy. Using a cast of three professional actors who play multiple roles, we bring all the quality of a large scale production to a small venue using lavish costumes & enchanting scenery. Children in Need Party!
Chester Green Chums are holding a Children's Party and 'Bring-a-Cake' stall in aid of Children in Need on Friday, 16th November at 10am at the Methodist Church Hall, Mansfield Street. Come and join in the fun (and feel free to bring a cake!)

Messy Play
If your child enjoys playing in a messy way, then why not try the Messy Play sessions held at St. Pauls Church hall, every Tuesday at 10am. It's £2 per child, and activities include:

    Songs from Musicals in Chester Green
    On Saturday 20th October Chester Green Methodist church is hosting a concert featuring "Perfect Harmony" - Emma Shute, Catherine Hart & Dan Armstrong - who will be performing a selection of songs from Broadway and the West End (including West Side Story, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables etc). The concert will be at Mansfield Street Methodist Church, which is off City Road in Chester Green.

    Light refreshments (hot drinks, soft drinks, biscuits, cakes) will be available during the interval.

    Tickets are a fiver with proceeds from the concert supporting the work of the Church in the local community.

    Boogie Woogie Babes!
    A movement, music, song and fun session for babies and toddlers will be starting at the Methodist Church Hall on Mansfield Street, Chester Green will be starting on Friday, 7th September. It's £3 to join in (under 1's are free). See the flyer below for more information!

    Dick Whittington at Chester Green Community Centre
    A local proffesional actor is currently touring the country with a company called Pocket Panto with a production of Dick Whittington. They are bringing the show to the Chester Green Community Centre on Sunday 26th August at 2pm.

    Coffee Morning in aid of the Church Clock
    There is a coffee morning at St. Paul's Church Hall on Friday 22nd June 10.30-12.30. It is in aid of a new movement for the church clock. Refreshments, home made cakes, stalls, raffle and lots more, children welcome - lots of toys available.

    Police Liason Meeting - Tuesday, 31st January 2006 at 7pm
    "Are you concernedabout anti-social behaviour, graffiti, crime, parking or speeding issues? This is an opportunity for the community to work with the local neighbourhood policing team to address these issues."

    The meeting is to be held at St Pauls Church Hall, Chester Green (for the 1st time, I think), so do come along if you are interested in any of the matters mentioned above (or any others!), or if you just want to meet our new(ish) local bobby!

    Well Dressing Weekend - Sat 18th June and Sun 19th
    This year the well dressing will be the well in the vicarage and the blessing service will begin at 2pm (Sat 18th). In the evening there will be a Ceilidh from 6.30pm to 9pm. Food will also be available. Sunday 19th service at 10am will be an open air event (weather permitting).

    Open Garden - Sunday 12th June
    John & Joan D'Arcy will be holding an open garden event (i.e. come along and have a nosy....... :-) in aid of the Nightingale Macmillan Unit. You can go along from 11am till 6pm to Stone House Prebend (at the end of Old Chester Rd). Admission is £2 (under 14's go free). There will also be refreshments, a Bric-a-Barc stall, cake stall and a tombola.
